Creating Sculpture for Raku with Hunter Vroonland

Get ready to dive into the exciting world of Raku with Hunter as your guide! Discover the thrilling process of creating and firing Raku sculptures. You'll learn sculpting techniques that ensure your creations are both visually stunning and structurally robust, ready to brave the intense Raku firing environment. This exhilarating four-week series invites you to craft 1-3 creative 6" sculptures over the first three weeks, culminating in a dramatic Raku firing session in the final week. The dates are October 11, 18, 25 and November 1, 2-4PM each day, with a longer class on Nov 1 to accommodate the firing.

Skill Level: Everyone is welcome! This beginner-friendly course is perfect for newcomers and experienced ceramic artists alike.

What to Bring: Grab your essentials at the studio—Raku clay, a scoring tool, a brush for applying slip, and photo references for your sculptures. Don't forget a towel and an apron.
