Fundamentals of Handbuilding - Session IV, Decorative Boxes

Stacy Morgan is teaching a special four part series designed to help you learn all the basics of handbuilding beautiful pieces in clay. Each class is an individual project so you can pick and choose which classes you come to.  This series is an exceptional opportunity to learn about handbuilding under the guidance of an expert, with lots of help to master your skills. Each project will be completed in one session, and then you can select a color from our studio glazes and we will glaze it for you or you can come back the following week to glaze it yourself if you wish. 

In this fourth session, you will learn to make a gorgeous  box that can be used in your kitchen or as a place to hide your treasures.  Stacy will guide you through each step of the process to create your own unique design, and it can be any style you want. She'll teach you methods that will help you avoid cracking, slumping and how to make well fitted lids. You'll learn to securely join the elements of your design for durability and aesthetics. We'll work together to complete your piece in a single session, then you can choose to let us glaze it for you in your choice of a single studio color or come back the following week and glaze it yourself. 

Skill level: Beginner friendly, open to everyone!
